Stretch Marks

Stretch marks, are a non discriminating beauty blunder, almost every woman will experience. Basically they're ugly and most of us would like to go away.

A big misconception about the marks is that "thin women don't have them". Not true even Super Models have gotten them.

Stretching the skin in a short amount of time i.e. puberty's growth spurts, and rapid weight gain will cause them. Also hormonal changes in the body can cause them as well, such as pregnancy.

Fact: 77-90% of women will get them, during their third trimester of pregnancy.

How to prevent them

During pregnancy espcially, use a body moisturizer with lots of Lactic acid and Vitamin E oil, they been shown in studies to prevent them. Although coaco butter has a buzzworthy rep, it has been not proven in any study.

How to get rid of them

Your best option is too visit your dr. and have him/her prescribe a retinoid, (medical grade vitamin A) and lactic acid gel/cream, you should see noticable results in 3-4 weeks.

--or--

a more natural way, would be to do a body scrub twice a week, and apply emu oil nightly.

Which ever approach you choose just remember that stretch marks need lots of moisture to prevent and heal.
